MRes Business Management and Social Justice
Course overview
The MRes Business Management and Social Justice course enhances career prospects in business management by combining specialist research skills with research advocacy training, teaching students how to use research for social justice aims. The course provides in-depth knowledge of current research in business management and develops skills in experimental design and data analysis. A unique core module teaches how to use research to address pressing global challenges within business management.
The course is part of the Social Transformation and Advocacy through Research (STAR), which aims to increase the participation of the majority of individuals globally in postgraduate research. The program targets a global majority of students (individuals from African, South Asian, South American, and other backgrounds) interested in postgraduate study and a research career.
The course is assessed 100% through coursework, including briefings, social media campaigns, research overviews, and original research projects. Students receive detailed feedback, including one-to-one meetings to discuss drafts and identify areas for improvement.
Entry requirements
- Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies.
- A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required.
- Students have the option to upload their CVs along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.
Grade Requirements

Possess a Bachelor's degree with a minimum Second Class (2:2) or equivalent in any subject.
English Proficiency

Achieve an IELTS score of 6.5, with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing, Speaking, Listening, and Reading (or a recognised equivalent). If you do not meet the English language requirements, you may be eligible for a Pre-sessional English course.
