MA Professional Landscape Architecture with Conversion
Course overview
This MA in Professional Landscape Architecture at UEL is made for people who have a degree in something else but are very interested in landscape design. This is a two-year, full-time programme that includes all the necessary beginner courses (like a postgraduate diploma) along with advanced study (like a Master of Arts). Taking this course gives you a straight path to becoming a Licentiate member of the UK Landscape Institute. The curriculum covers theoretical frameworks, professional practice, and studio-based design modules, enabling students to lead the landscape design process.
Learning is undertaken through a balanced structure of design studio work, lectures, seminars, and field visits, with students gaining hands-on experience through projects with real clients and sites. Assessment is based entirely on coursework, comprising written reports, illustrated reports, essays, and design drawing portfolios submitted at the end of each module; there are no examinations. Throughout the programme, students benefit from academic guidance and support from a personal tutor and faculty staff who maintain their professional practice and bring current industry knowledge to the classroom.
Entry requirements
Candidates are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying to the course and provide other relevant information about their studies. Applicants must also supply two academic referees to provide references regarding their academic ability.
