BSc Psychology
Course overview
The BSc Psychology (with Foundation Year) at the University of East London is a four-year undergraduate programme. The first year (foundation year) provides students with the opportunity to develop study skills, science foundations, and confidence. After that, the three-year honours degree covers how people think, feel, and behave. Students study core modules in psychology, including cognitive, developmental, and social and biological influences; research methods; and applications in real-life settings. The programme aims to help students prepare for careers or further study in psychology and related fields.
In the foundation year, students study the basics of mental health, analytical skills, and media communication. As students progress, they study advanced topics, optional modules, and complete a significant research project. Work-based learning or placements may be included. Students learn through lectures, seminars, group work, lab or practical sessions, and external visits. Assessments include essays, lab reports, presentations, case studies, exams, and a final research project. Feedback is provided during the programme to help students improve.
