MSc Energy Engineering
Course overview
This MSc Energy Engineering Master's degree will prepare students to be the energy engineers the industry needs. Students will become skilled in the basic principles of energy and electrical engineering, with the ability to choose subjects like renewable energy (solar, wind, wave), nuclear energy, and energy storage. The course is professionally recognised by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Energy Institute.
Students will take taught classes and finish a final research project (a dissertation). The teaching includes lectures, lab work, and hands-on sessions in modern settings such as Productivity East. Their results are mainly checked through coursework, technical reports, and talks. They might also have the opportunity to undertake the practical part of their research project during a work placement in the energy sector, thanks to the University's strong links with companies.
