MSc Marketing Management

Course Overview

Studying an MSc in Marketing Management at the University of Derby is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of core concepts of marketing and the opportunity to apply them in safe yet realistic business and marketing scenarios. The programme also enables students to learn how to create and implement marketing plans and how to manage brands effectively.

Throughout the MSc in Marketing Management, students will follow a unique business-orientated curriculum that sharpens their creative, managerial, and ethical marketing skills allowing them to address marketing challenges in new and original ways.

During this 1 year master's degree programme, students will be assessed through various reports, online tests, presentations, and group assignments. These assessments will develop the critical skills required for the role of a marketing manager in an international business landscape.

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in any related field or its equivalent from a university in the UK, or an equivalent qualification obtained from a well-regarded institution overseas.
  • Some universities may consider applicants with relevant professional experience in the field instead of formal academic qualifications.

Grade Requirement

  • A lower second-class degree (2:2) at the undergraduate level.

English Proficiency

  • Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS score of at least 6.5. TOEFL or other equivalents are also allowed.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for the 2025/26 academic year for international students enrolling in the MSc Marketing Management is approximately £16,900. This cost is mostly curated towards tuition and does not cover additional costs related to the programme.

Scholarships

The University of Derby offers several scholarships and bursaries for both domestic and international students. These financial aids are awarded based on different criteria, and students must receive an offer of study from the university before applying for any scholarship.

International Alumni Discount:

This offer applies to full-time and part-time campus-based master's programs and is applicable for students who have graduated from a full-time or part-time undergraduate degree course at the University of Derby. This offer also applies to any graduate wishing to progress onto an online postgraduate program.

Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship

Students will be eligible for the award of a Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship of £2,000, which will be deducted from their first-year tuition fee. This £2,000 scholarship is in addition to our existing Full Payment Discount, whereby students who pay their annual tuition fee in full ahead of enrolment benefit from a £1,000 discount.
