BA Business Management with Foundation Year

The BA Business Management with Foundation Year at the University of Derby is a 4-year programme that starts with a foundation year to support students before the main course. The programme is accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI), which adds value by providing an additional professional qualification along with the degree. Students also benefit from professional mentoring and access to CMI member resources. 

Throughout the course, students study several modules to understand how organisations work, how they are managed, and how they fit into a global context. The programme covers areas like responsible management, business ethics, digital media, business analytics, and global innovation. During the foundation year, topics such as data analysis, contemporary business issues, and decision-making are introduced. Later, the focus expands to areas like business economics, marketing, operations, and sustainable management.
