Course Overview

The MSc Facilities Management course at the University of Central Lancashire can be completed in one year if studied full-time, or over 2-3 years for those who prefer a part-time, flexible study option. The primary goal of this course is to teach students how to optimise the performance of buildings, ensure health and safety standards are met, and lead teams in different sectors.

They are also taught about risk assessment, health and safety regulations, legal compliance, and the use of technology for efficient facility operations.

The core modules in the course include risk and value management, health and safety management, facilities management practice, and project planning, control, and analysis. Founded in 1828 as the Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge, the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) gained university status in 1992. Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in an Engineering or Construction field is required, with a minimum of a 2:2 grade or its equivalent.

English Proficiency

  • Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to score 6.0 overall in IELTS (with no section below 5.5) or submit equivalent English test scores.

Cost of Study

For international students, the tuition fee for the MSc Facilities Management course at the University of Central Lancashire is around £16,900 per year. This fee is specific to those enrolling for the 2025/26 academic year and may still be updated.

Scholarships

International students at the University of Central Lancashire have access to numerous scholarships and financial support options. Those enrolling for the academic year 2025/26 will benefit from an automatic £1,000 bursary each year to help with tuition fees. Students with exceptional academic records can qualify for the Excellence Scholarship, offering approximately £3,500 annually, which is deducted from tuition fees. Additionally, those excelling in sports at the BUCS or para level may be eligible for sports scholarships, with awards ranging from £500, £2,000, or up to £5,000.
