LLB Law
Course overview
The LLB (Hons) Law degree at the University of Central Lancashire gives students the necessary training to work as legal professionals, such as a solicitor or barrister. This course focuses on preparing students for the real world, giving them the skills and practical experience that employers want.
Students will learn how the law works in practice by studying key subjects like Criminal Law, the English legal system, Consumer and Commercial Law, and International and European Law. Students can also choose from a range of subjects to focus their learning, including Family Law, Medicine Law, Company Law, and Human Rights.
A major part of this degree is hands-on learning. Students will practice skills such as mooting (debating court cases), mediation, and negotiation. This training takes place in the modern moot court room where students present cases and take part in mock trials.
The teaching staff includes people who have previously worked as barristers, solicitors, and legal professionals. When finished, the law degree provides students with the experience needed for many careers, including working as a solicitor or barrister, or in other areas such as the police, businesses, and the civil service.
