University of Lancashire

Course overview

This approved BSc Computing at the University of Lancashire is a hard but practical course that teaches students to use new technology to solve computer issues in business and industry. In the first year, students will build essential skills with other students, and then they can either stick to the general Computing course or select a specialised path.

The course lets students specialise by choosing two subjects from options like Business, Internet and Cloud, Networking, Security, or Software Development. Students' learning uses up-to-date knowledge from industry fields such as software engineering and cybersecurity. A key feature is the 'Computing Challenge', a yearly contest where student teams build a new application. The degree is officially approved by the British Computer Society (BCS)
