Course Overview

The BA (Hons) Illustration at the University of Central Lancashire is a studio-based course designed to help students refine their creative skills and develop a strong visual language. About University

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) is an international, multi-campus institution with a rich history dating back to 1828. Today, UCLan is at the forefront of modern learning, providing high-quality education and fostering innovation across a wide range of disciplines.

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants are required to submit a portfolio for consideration. Students will be sent an email by the university’s Admissions Office advising how this should be provided.

Grade Requirements: 

  • UCAS tariff of 96 points at A2
  • BTEC Extended Diploma at MMM and BTEC Diploma at DD
  • International Baccalaureate Diploma: Pass including 96 points from Higher Level subjects
  • GCSEs: 5 at grade C/4 including Maths and English or equivalent

English Proficiency:

  • International applicants whose first language is not English are required to prove their English Language proficiency by having an IELTS score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component.

Cost of Study

The course is available to international students for a fee of £17,325 per year, offering fantastic value for high-quality education. For local students, the course costs £9,535 per year.

Scholarships

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) offers a variety of scholarships and bursaries to support students financially during their studies. These include the Excellence Scholarship, which rewards students with outstanding academic achievements, and the International Bursary, providing £1,000 per year to eligible international students. Additionally, UCLan participates in the GREAT Scholarships program, offering £10,000 to students from specific countries.

The Care Leaver Bursary and Carers Bursary are also forms of bursaries to support students who need extra support because they have been in care or are estranged from their parents.
