Course Overview

The BA Business and Human Resource Management (with Foundation Year) programme at the University of Central Lancashire can be completed within four years. This course helps students learn how organisations function as well as how to manage successful businesses, improve workplace environments, and tackle challenges involving employee relations and legal compliance. 

The foundation year is particularly useful for those who may not meet the direct entry requirements but still want to pursue a degree in this field. It essentially provides the basic academic and business skills to help students transition smoothly into the specialised study of business and HR management.

The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) was founded in 1828 as the Institution for the Diffusion of Knowledge. Over the years, it underwent several name changes before gaining university status in 1992. UCLan's main campus is located in Preston, Lancashire, England. Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need to have at least 64 UCAS Tariff points at A2 or present equivalent qualifications such as T Levels, BTECs, and the International Baccalaureate.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants are required to possess an IELTS score of at least 6.0 overall, with no individual score below 5.5. They can also prove they are proficient in English via equivalent tests like TOEFL.

Cost of Study

For full-time study, international students enrolling in the BA Business and Human Resource Management (with Foundation Year) programme at the University of Central Lancashire will pay the tuition fee of £17,325 per year.

For first-year students, the fee is £17,250. Please know that these rates are subject to change. Additionally, there may be extra costs that are not included in the tuition fees, so be sure to consider those while budgeting.

Scholarships

Those enrolling in the 2025/26 academic year receive an automatic international bursary of £1,000 per year to reduce their tuition fees. Additionally, talented athletes competing at a high level in BUCS or para sports can apply for sports scholarships, which offer up to £500 (bronze), £2,000 (silver), or £5,000 (gold). An Excellence Scholarship of approximately £3,500 per year is available for students with outstanding prior academic achievement, also applied automatically to tuition fees.
