MSc Cyber Security Management with Professional Practice
Course overview
The MSc Cyber Security Management with Professional Practice at the University of Law is a two-year full-time programme. Year one covers the same modules as the one-year MSc route, such as Global Business Strategy, Data Security, and Cyber Security for Business. The second year offers students a “Professional Practice” option, allowing them to choose from a paid industry placement, a consultancy project, a business plan, or a research/dissertation project. The teaching uses workshop-style classes, real business case studies, and support for leadership and professional development. This route is designed for students who want more than theory. It aims to provide practical experience and tools to move into senior roles in cybersecurity and management.
Learning is delivered through lectures, workshops, seminars, team sessions, and practical tasks. Students will use tools for data security, network and cloud management, leadership skills, compliance frameworks, and business simulation. They will learn how to design, implement, manage, and communicate cybersecurity strategy within organisations. Assessment includes written exams or tests for theoretical modules, coursework, group work, and a final major project/dissertation or placement report in the second year.

Grade Requirements:
- The typical requirement is a 2:2 or above from a UK Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent qualification(s).
English Proficiency:
- International applicants require proof of English language proficiency with an IELTS score of 6.0 overall and no section below 5.5 (or equivalent).
