Course Overview

The BSc (Honours) Nursing (Learning Disability) and Social Work at Sheffield Hallam University is designed to enable students to gain the skills and experience needed to provide exceptional care for people with learning disabilities. Students will learn from other practitioners and students, gaining an understanding of areas they can specialise in within healthcare. They will graduate with the qualifications and credentials to enter professional practice.

The course consists of integrated health and social care modules, based around the theme of learning disabilities, which develop both nursing and social work practice. There is also a strong emphasis on collaborative teaching and learning throughout the programme.

Students will be equipped with the knowledge, skills and values that enhance their employment opportunities and provide them with a strong professional identity, as well as confidence to work with different professional groups and agencies to develop solutions to real-world practice issues.

Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

Applicants should possess 120 UCAS tariff points, equivalent to A-level grades within the range of ABB-CCC or other equivalent qualifications.

If English is not your main language, you will need an IELTS score of 7.0 overall, with at least 6.5 in each part (reading, writing, listening, and speaking). The university also accepts other English language tests, such as PTE or TOEFL.
