Course overview

The BSc (Hons) Events Management at Sheffield Hallam University helps you build a career in the exciting world of events. You’ll learn by doing, planning and delivering real events such as festivals, exhibitions, luxury weddings and Esports competitions.

In this course, you will also study useful business skills like event marketing, safety, finance and operations. You’ll gain two recognised industry certificates during your course, which will help you when applying for jobs.

You’ll work on real projects and have the chance to take a work placement with well-known organisations like Festival Republic, Porsche UK or Walt Disney Florida. In your final year, you’ll organise your own event using all the knowledge and experience you’ve gained.

Entry requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • Candidates are expected to have a UCAS Tariff of 112-120 points, which must include at least 64 points from two A-levels. 
  • Equivalent BTEC qualifications, such as BBC-BBB at A-level and DDM in BTEC Extended Diploma, are also accepted. 

English Proficiency:

  • International applicants whose first language is not English will need to provide proof that they are proficient in the language. To do this, they are expected to have an IELTS score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each skill area. 
  • Candidates who do not meet this requirement are advised to register for the university's Pre-sessional English course.
