Course overview
Sheffield Hallam University’s BEng (Honours) Automotive Engineering with Foundation year course is for students who want to become automotive engineers, with a focus on creating eco-friendly vehicle technologies. It is a foundation year programme that prepares students who may not meet the entry requirements for the main degree at the City Campus.
The curriculum covers automotive design, development, testing, manufacturing, electronics, and performance analysis. Students will practice real projects, simulations, and study aerodynamics and related areas from the beginning of the programme.
Students will be taught using lectures, tutorials, hands-on lab work, computer simulations, and teamwork and they will study core modules such as engineering and mathematics in practice, foundation mathematics, mechanics and electronics 1 and 2, and fundamentals of materials and manufacturing.
Entry requirements
Candidates are to submit a personal statement and other relevant academic information, a relevant academic and/or employer reference and a CV along with their applications to show their work experience.
Grade Requirements:
- Candidates need 40 UCAS Tariff points.
- Relevant work experience will be considered, if the candidate does not meet the academic criteria.
English Proficiency:
- Candidates should submit an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS test, with no score below 5.5.
- TOEFL and PTE are also accepted test scores.
