Course Overview

The MSc Strength and Conditioning-Online Distance Learning at Middlesex University is a one-year full-time programme or a two-year part-time programme. It is a Master’s degree course that gives students skills and knowledge in providing high-performance support to athletes and non-athletes. During the programme, students will learn the science and conditioning of strength, applied performance coaching, hands-on experience, and an independent project (dissertation).

Learning is done mainly using online materials, live contact time, and self-paced work. Students on this programme are assessed by coursework, practical assessments, presentations, and a dissertation in the final year.

The course is approved by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) through their Education Recognition Program (ERP). It also gives pathways to become an Accredited Strength and Conditioning Coach (ASCC) with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA).

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants for the course must have at least a second-class lower honours, or an equivalent qualification in a sports or exercise-related field.
  • If applicants do not have a degree in a related course, they should have relevant industry experience supported by professional qualifications. This experience should be included in the applicant’s CV.

English Proficiency:

  • International students from non-English speaking countries must show proof of English language ability. Some tests the university accepts are an overall score of at least 6.5 in IELTS or a 79 overall score in TOEFL iBT.
  • Other tests the university accepts are the Pearson Test of English (59 overall) and Cambridge Main Suite (175 overall).
  • If you do not already, there is the Middlesex internal English language test. For postgraduate applicants, the minimum overall score needed is 3.5.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee for international students is £12,800 per year.

Scholarships
