BSc Medical Science

The BSc Medical Science course is a multi-disciplinary (different fields of study) that prepares students for a career in research, public health, and the pharmaceutical industry. The programme provides an understanding of normal and abnormal body function, including the biochemical, cellular, and physiological aspects of health and disease.

A key component of the course is its experiments conducted in state-of-the-art labs, equipped with advanced technology that teaches essential medical laboratory techniques. The curriculum covers topics such as genetics, immunology, and drug design; all these topics and more will teach students the skills to analyse data, write reports, and understand disease diagnosis.

Students' progress will be checked through tests and assessments. Some tests are informal and designed to help students improve, and the formal test will focus on their final grade.

Grade Requirements

• Candidates need 112 UCAS points, including A-levels, BTEC, or an equivalent with two science subjects, which should include biology or chemistry.
• Other International qualifications equivalent to A-levels are also accepted.

English Proficiency

• Candidates need an overall score of 6.0 in the IELTS Academic test, with no score below 5.5.
• Other English language test scores, such as PTE Academic and TOEFL IBT, are accepted, amongst others.

The tuition fee for the BSc Medical Science at Middlesex University for international students is £16,600, which is subject to change yearly.

High achieving students might get a Regional Award, which can reduce up to £5,000 from their first year's fees.
