MSc Psychology

This London South Bank University MSc Psychology is a broad programme that provides a thorough understanding of human behaviour and the processes that support learning, memory, social interactions, feelings, thinking and communication. It is among the first in the UK to teach the core curriculum in an integrated way, exploring concepts from different perspectives within the same module.

The course is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS), which satisfies the requirements for the Graduate Basis of Chartership in one year, a key step for those who wish to become professional psychologists. A prior psychology degree is not a prerequisite for admission.

Directed teaching time is around 15 hours per week, with 9 hours on campus and 6 hours of online learning. Independent study is also a necessary part of the course. Students are assessed through various methods, such as essays, research reports, case studies and presentations, providing a complete evaluation of their learning.

Candidates need to submit a personal statement, and a relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. They also have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants need at least a second-class (2:2) honours degree.
• Alternatively, a different degree will be acceptable if the applicant has enough relevant work experience.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to score 6.5 overall in IELTS (with 5.5 in each section) or submit equivalent test scores like PTE.
