MSc Physiotherapy Pre-registration

The London Metropolitan University MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) programme is modelled to meet the needs of students who have a science-based background and are interested in the pre-registration route to a career in physiotherapy. In this course, you will gain knowledge of the clinical sciences that underpin physiotherapy and acquire the skills to work flexibly across various settings within the modern health and social care sector. The programme includes compulsory practice-based learning with opportunities in the NHS and private healthcare providers, as well as digital healthcare delivery and the University's own clinics.

The course employs a blended approach to learning, combining both in-person and online teaching methods for lectures, seminars, and group work. This is supplemented with practical sessions in therapy rooms and clinical simulation suites. You will be evaluated in this course using objective structured clinical examinations, case study essays, practical reports, and a master's dissertation. Curriculum is built in partnership with experienced partners, service users and students and is geared to equip graduates as newly-qualified physiotherapists.

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement in which they discuss their reasons for applying for the course and other relevant information regarding their studies. A relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Students have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants need at least an upper second-class (2:1) honours degree in a science-based course, such as Physiology, Psychology, Sports and Exercise Science, or Sports Therapy.
• Applicants with degrees in other disciplines will be assessed on their individual merits.
• A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and occupational health clearance are also required.

English Proficiency:

• IELTS overall score of 7.0 is required.
• Minimum of 7.0 in writing.
• No less than 6.5 in other components.
