MPharm Pharmacy

The MPharm Pharmacy at Liverpool John Moores University is a professionally accredited degree that prepares you for a rewarding career as a pharmacist and healthcare professional. Graduates of the MPharm Pharmacy from Liverpool John Moores University are fully prepared to begin their Foundation Training Year, the next step towards professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC). By studying Pharmacy at LJMU, you will be equipped with the skills, values and confidence needed to make good clinical decisions and to continue developing throughout your career. Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a public university in Liverpool, England. It began in 1823 and became a university in 1992. The university is well known for helping students prepare for their future careers and for being closely connected to the city of Liverpool.

At LJMU, students are assessed in various ways. Alongside exams and essays, you will take part in practical tasks such as presentations, group projects and portfolios. For some courses, especially in healthcare, extra assessments like tests or video interviews may be used during the application process to ensure fairness.

LJMU is also well respected for its research, particularly in sports science, astrophysics and engineering. In the UK’s latest research review (REF 2021), over 73% of the university’s research was rated as “internationally excellent” or “world-leading”. In addition, LJMU holds a Silver award for teaching quality, recognising its strong teaching and learning support for students.

Grade Requirements:

• A UCAS tariff score of 120 to 128 is required to study this course. This can be obtained through qualifications such as A-Level at BBB - ABB; Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Extended Diploma; Access to HE Diploma; and International Baccalaureate Diploma.

English Proficiency:

• International students whose first language is not English will be required to show proficiency in English through recognised tests such as IELTS.

The tuition fee to study an MPharm in Pharmacy at Liverpool John Moores University is £21,000. Please note that the fee quoted is only for the 2026/2027 academic session.

LJMU provides scholarships and financial aid options to help international students with their tuition fees. For example, all self-funded international students are automatically eligible for a scholarship of up to £4,000. Also, if you pay your fees by the required deadline, you can get a £500 discount. This is automatically taken off your first year's tuition.
