Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) Computer Games Development at Liverpool John Moores University will prepare you for a job in the exciting world of video games. You will learn all the technical and creative skills you need to be successful, like programming with C/C++, using math for game physics and graphics, and creating 3D graphics.

Throughout the course, you'll also learn about game design, level design, and game production. You will get to learn from people who work in the industry and use great facilities like the Games Technology Lab, which has PlayStation and Xbox consoles, and other professional software.

About University

Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is a public university in Liverpool, England. It began in 1823 as the Liverpool Mechanics' School of Arts. Over time, it went through different changes and became a university in 1992. It was named after Sir John Moores, a local businessman who founded the Littlewoods company.

Today, LJMU has more than 25,000 students from over 100 different countries. The university offers a large number of degree programs for both undergraduate and postgraduate students. Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • To be eligible for this course, a UCAS tariff score of 112 is required. This can be obtained through qualifications including A-Level at BBC; BTEC Extended Diploma at DMM; International Baccalaureate; and T-Level. 

English Proficiency:

  • International students are to show proficiency in English by having an IELTS score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each of the four components. Please note that tests must be taken within two years of the course start date.

Cost of Study

For the 2025/26 academic session, the tuition fee to study the BSc (Hons) Computer Games Development at Liverpool John Moores University is £18,250 with a placement fee of £3,830.

Scholarships

Liverpool John Moores University offers many scholarships and payment options to help international students with their tuition fees.

If you are a student paying for your studies, you will automatically receive a £4,000 scholarship. To get this, you must accept your offer and meet all the conditions in your offer letter.

Additionally, after you pay a £5,000 deposit, you can pay the rest of your fees in three separate payments. The amount you owe will be reduced by any scholarships or discounts you received.
