MMid Midwifery with Registered Midwife

Course Overview

The Kingston University MMid Midwifery with Registered Midwife course is a three-year master's course which prepares graduates to be qualified to become registered midwives. The course enables students to develop a solid scientific foundation in midwifery practice that includes, but is not limited to, maternal and neonatal care, health promotion, and ethical implications. Lots of practical experience is also involved in the course, and 50 per cent of the time is spent on placements in hospitals, communities and the university's realistic simulation suites.

Studying this course is a mixture of theory and practice, and you will be assessed through essays, examinations, reflective journals, and projects, all with different weights throughout the years. The advantages to students include having access to a set of fully equipped skills labs and simulation suites where they can practise on clinical equipment and teaching models in maternity care.
