LLM Law

Course Overview

The LLM Law degree at Kingston University is designed to enable students to have a better understanding of legal techniques and principles to give them the practical skills needed to succeed in the legal profession. Students will have the opportunity to apply the law to various legal settings and subject areas. 

Throughout the programme, students will have the opportunity to witness real-life legal issues and investigate how the law relates to topics such as technology, employment, and climate. Students can choose to take the full-time programme (one year) or the part-time one (two years). As part of the LLM,  they will undertake two optional modules in Term 1 and two optional modules in Term 2.

Entry Requirements

To apply for this course, you will have to submit a personal statement, which should explain your reason for choosing the course and other relevant academic or professional details. You will also need an academic or employer reference. You may choose to upload their CV to show your work experience. 

Grade Requirements:

  • The typical offer for this programme is a 2:2 or above honours degree in law. Joint honours degrees where law is the major component (e.g., Accounting and Law or Combined Studies) can be accepted. 

English Proficiency:

  • If English is not your first language, you will need an overall IELTS score of 6.5, with at least 6.0 in each part. 
  • Other alternative requirements include tests such as TOEFL and PTE.

Cost of Study

For international students enrolling for the LLM Law at Kingston University, the tuition fee is £17,600 for the 2025-26 academic year.

Scholarships

Kingston University London offers a range of scholarships to support both international and home students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate studies. International students can apply for scholarships worth £5,000 towards their first-year tuition fees, provided they have an offer for a postgraduate course and submit a personal statement and a brief video introduction.
