Course Overview

The MSc Reservoir Evaluation and Management at Heriot-Watt University is a full-time, one-year programme for students interested in advancing their knowledge of reservoir engineering and geoscience. Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants need at least a 2:2 honours degree in geology, earth science, or engineering, or an equivalent degree from outside the UK. They should also have good math skills.

English Proficiency:

  • Students whose first language is not English need an IELTS score of at least 6.0, with a minimum of 5.5 in each skill component. 
  • They can also use scores from other accepted tests or take English language courses offered by the university before starting classes.

Cost of Study

For international students, the expected tuition fee for the Heriot-Watt University MSc Reservoir Evaluation and Management programme in the 2025/26 academic year is £29,960. Please keep in mind that this rate may be adjusted annually.

Scholarships

Heriot-Watt University provides various scholarships and discounts to aid international students. The Norway Early Bird Scholarship is available for students from Norway, granting them £6,000 if they accept their offer by April 1, or £3,000 if they accept between April 1 and May 1.

Moreover, the International Merit Scholarship offers over £500,000 for international students enrolling in January or September 2025, with rewards based on good grades and differing by region. Additionally, the Alumni Discount Scheme allows former students who completed at least one year at Heriot-Watt to receive a 20% discount on postgraduate taught courses at all campuses.
