MSc Artificial Intelligence

The MSc Artificial Intelligence at Heriot-Watt University is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding and practical skills to develop intelligent software and systems. With a focus on real-world applications, the 1-year programme covers key topics like machine learning, data mining, computer vision, natural language processing, and robotics to equip students with essential skills needed for successful careers in the field.

Grade Requirements:

• A minimum of a 2:2 honours degree or non-UK equivalent with evidence of understanding subjects such as design, creative digital skills, or computing and programming skills.
• In addition, work or project experience in a related company role will be taken into consideration. 

English Proficiency:

• The minimum English language requirement for entry to this programme is IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent) with no score lower than 5.5.
• If applicants do not have IELTS 6.0, the university offers a range of English language courses to help them meet the English language requirement for this programme prior to commencing their studies.

For international students enrolling in the MSc Artificial Intelligence from Heriot-Watt University, the annual tuition fee is £25,480.

Although there are no course-specific scholarships available, the university offers several general funding opportunities. These include the International Postgraduate Scholarships, which provide tuition fee reductions of up to £2,000 based on academic merit, ranging from £1,000 to £2,000 depending on the applicant’s degree classification. Additionally, the 125th Anniversary Scholarships are available for master’s students from selected countries, such as Nigeria, Kenya, and Ghana, for programmes beginning in September 2025.
