BSc Games Technology

This software engineering program trains students to become specialist programmers and developers, teaching them the programming and scientific skills needed to improve commercial game engines or build new ones. Students learn advanced techniques for using industry-standard engines, understand the engineering behind digital artwork, and develop key game engine systems like graphics renderers and physics libraries. The program also covers emerging technologies like VR/AR and gives students hands-on experience with console and cross-platform development.

The course focuses on practical learning, where students work in teams to build games and develop projects using industry-standard tools and version control systems. This approach helps students develop the skills needed for independent game creation and prepares them for working in larger studios. Grade Requirements:

• For the foundation year, applicants need 32 UCAS Tariff points.
• An A2 or Extended Diploma at grade C, or a BTEC qualification at grade M, is also accepted.
• GCSEs at grade 4 (C) or above in Mathematics, English, and Art & Design.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants need an IELTS score of 4.5 overall, with no component lower than 4.5.
• PTE and TOEFL are also accepted.

For the academic year 2025/26, the tuition fees are £19,850 per year for international students.
