BSc Business Management and Economics Top-up

Course Overview

This one-year top-up degree is specifically made for students who have completed a Higher National Diploma (HND), a Foundation Degree (FdA/FdSc), or the first two years of a relevant undergraduate degree.

It allows them to get a full Bachelor of Science honours degree. The programme builds students up with a very good understanding of business management and core economic theories, making them ready to manage change, think critically, and act responsibly in various business contexts.

Learning is done through modern, practice-based subjects in high-specification facilities, including a Business Laboratory and a Bloomberg Trading Room, while Instruction is a mix of lectures, seminars, independent learning, and online study skills sessions. Assessments include coursework, reports, exams (for accountancy and finance modules), online tests, portfolio evaluations, case studies, and consultancy projects. The programme also has double accreditation with the Chartered Management Institute (CMI).

Entry Requirements

Applicants must submit a personal statement, academic or employer reference, and optionally, a CV to give a background of their work experience.

Grade Requirements: 

  • 240 credits from a relevant Level 5 qualification
  • Higher National Diploma (HND)
  • Foundation Degree (FdA/FdSc)
  • Completion of the first two years of a related undergraduate degree (BA/BSc).

English Proficiency: 

  • Students need an IELTS Academic overall of 6.0, minimum 5.5 in each component (reading, writing, listening, speaking)
  • TOEFL and PTE are also accepted.

Cost of Study

For international students, the tuition fee for the BSc Business Management and Economics (Top-up) programme at the University of Roehampton is £16,950 per year.

Scholarships

The University of Roehampton offers the International Excellence Scholarship for talented international students, which provides a tuition fee discount of £1,000 to £4,000 per year for high-achieving international students, also the Scholarship for Sporting Excellence, which offers £500 to £1,500 per year for talented athletes, and the International Women's Global Scholarship, this offers £10,000 for the first year to exceptional female students.
