MA Interior Design

This postgraduate programme is focused on making sure students can play a key part in tackling climate change through responsible and environmentally conscious interior design. It examines how innovative design can create more sustainable solutions for new and existing buildings by exploring relevant theories and techniques. The goal is to develop students as professionals who can guide clients towards environmentally and socially responsible design decisions.

The course encourages students to challenge themselves by creating spaces that prioritise longevity, occupant health, and well-being, along with using sustainable materials and methods. The learning is driven by a self-defined major project and is supported by a supervisory team. Assessment is based on the final exhibition of practical design work and a detailed written research paper or article.

• Alternatively, applicants with a different degree may be considered if they can show equivalent professional standing or experience in the field through a portfolio review and interview.

English Proficiency:

• Applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds need to provide proof that they are fluent in English.
• This is usually confirmed by an Academic IELTS score of 6.0 overall or an equivalent result from another accepted test.

The tuition fee for international students taking the MA Interior Design at Cardiff Metropolitan University is £17,600 per year.
