BSc Sport Coaching

Course Overview

The Cardiff Metropolitan University BSc Sport Coaching (with Foundation) programme is designed to prepare students for the BSc (Hons) Sport Coaching degree. The foundation year is for applicants who do not meet the required points (or equivalent) for direct entry or mature students who have been out of formal education for a period of time.

After completing the foundational year, students will progress to the three-year honours degree, which focuses on developing critical coaches who understand the social and relational nature of the profession. The programme features both theoretical seminars and practical coaching sessions, alongside work-related opportunities, to help students construct innovative and caring learning environments for performers.

Grade Requirements:

  • To be enrolled, applicants need a minimum of 32 UCAS tariff points, which can be obtained from qualifications like A-levels, BTECs, or T-Levels.
  • Other international qualifications equivalent to A-Levels are accepted.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates whose first language is not English are required to achieve an IELTS score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.5 in each section.
  • Equivalent acceptable test scores may also be submitted for admission.
