MSc Gastronomy and Food Studies
Course overview
The MSc in Gastronomy and Food Studies at Buckinghamshire New University offers an understanding of food beyond just cooking. It helps students understand how food aligns with finance and culture. Previous study, professional and/or vocational experiences may be recognised as proof of learning and allow exemption from studying certain modules following the university’s accreditation of prior learning (APL) process.
Grade Requirements

Candidates need a minimum 2:2 Honours in Business, Hospitality, Tourism, Gastronomy, Culinary Arts, or Food-related degree, plus a minimum of 5 years experience within a supervisory role, or higher, within the food industry. Applicants with industry experience, without a formal degree level qualification, might also be considered.

International students must have an IELTS overall score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in Writing, Speaking, Reading, and Listening, or similar.

One-off Early Payment fee reduction of £500 available to all applicants paying overseas fees. The full tuition fee charged must be at least £15,000.

50% fee waiver per year. 10% fee waiver per year for September 2025 intake only.
