Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) Game Programming at Birmingham City University is for students who want to work in the game development industry. Entry Requirements

Grade Requirements:

  • To apply, you will need 112 UCAS Tariff points. This can be achieved through various qualifications. 
  • For A Levels, this is typically equivalent to BBC, and any AS Level must be in a different subject from your A Levels. A maximum of four subjects will be considered.
  • BTEC qualifications are also accepted: a Diploma or Extended Diploma must meet the 112-point requirement. 
  • If you’re applying with an Access to HE Diploma, you’ll need to pass with 60 credits, including 45 credits at Level 3.

English Proficiency: 

  • Non-native speakers of English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in English. To do this, they must possess an IELTS overall score of 6.0 with at least 5.5 in each component. 
  • Candidates who do not meet this requirement may apply for the university’s pre-sessional English courses.

Cost of Study

For the 2025/2026 academic year, the tuition fee to study the BSc Game Programming at Birmingham City University is £17,960.
