BA Stage Management

Course Overview

The BA Stage Management course at Birmingham City University is a three-year, full-time undergraduate programme focused on acting and theatre. Classes are held at the city centre campus and there are opportunities for students to connect with experienced faculty who actively work in the industry.

Through this course, students learn about design elements, which broaden their understanding of stage management, and also gain hands-on experience with theatrical performance productions. Upon completion, graduates will be well-equipped to pursue opportunities with prestigious organisations, including the Royal Shakespeare Company, Complicité, and England Netball.

Entry Requirements

  • Applicants will be required to attend an interview hosted by the Course Team.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants have the option to submit A Levels that amount to 96 UCAS Tariff points, or they can present an International Baccalaureate with a minimum overall score of 24 points.
  • International applicants can also present equivalent qualifications.

English Proficiency:

  • Candidates who are non-native English speakers are expected to have a total IELTS score of 6.0, with no less than 5.5 in each skill section.

Cost of Study

For the 2025/26 academic year, the tuition fee for Birmingham City University’s BA Stage Management programme is set at £19,970 per year. Please be aware that this fee may increase annually by up to 5% throughout the duration of the course.

Scholarships

International students can access multiple scholarship options at Birmingham City University, including the International Scholarship, which provides up to £2,000 as a tuition fee discount for undergraduate international students, and the Women in STEAM Scholarship, which awards £2,500 to female applicants in science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.
