BSc Occupational Therapy

Course Overview

This full-time, three-year programme prepares students to become Occupational Therapists (OTs) — professionals who support people experiencing illness or disability by helping them recover, adapt, and overcome barriers. Occupational therapists enable individuals to perform the daily activities they need or want to do, thereby improving their function, independence, and quality of life.

OTs work with adults and children of all ages, including those with a wide range of physical and mental health conditions, across various settings such as hospitals, community healthcare organisations, education, charities, and private practice. The course is accredited by the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Occupational Therapists (RCOT).

The course integrates real-world perspectives, incorporating the lived experiences of service users and carers to ensure that the curriculum remains relevant to evolving professional practices. Modules cover traditional health and social care, employability, and entrepreneurship within private practice.
