MA Art Psychotherapy Practice

Course Overview

The MA Art Psychotherapy Practice at Sheffield Hallam University is a one-year postgraduate course that trains students to become professionals in the health sector. Students will learn how the brain functions, including the neurons that send signals across the body, while developing skills to cater to people who need therapy due to the overstimulation of the brain and mind.

In this programme, students will learn how verbal cues and communication can be used to help people with low self-esteem, challenging thoughts, and other feelings and behaviours. They will also understand the techniques a professional requires to develop a partnership in a work setting where they can access confidential information, but are trained not to disclose sensitive information.

Learning is through lectures, seminars, conferences, group discussions, lab sessions, and field reports. Assessment methods include tests, assignments, presentations, lab reports, and examinations.
