Course Overview

The BSc (Hons) Psychology with Sport and Exercise Psychology at Edge Hill University is designed to give you the knowledge and practical skills necessary to understand how psychology influences performance, and wellbeing in sport and exercise. It is a three-year full-time undergraduate programme that equips you with the analytical and applied skills needed to support individuals in athletic and active lifestyles.

Accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS) for Graduate Basis for Chartered Membership, this course covers core topics such as performance psychology, motivation, psychological wellbeing, and the foundations of psychological theory. When you graduate with this degree, you will know how to apply psychological principles and conduct applied research through interviews, observations, and case studies in real-world settings.

In this programme, you will learn through a blend of lectures, seminars, labs, workshops, and independent study, all underpinned by hands-on learning in applied sport and physical activity contexts. Assessment is done through a combination of coursework, practical assignments, reports, presentations, examinations, and a final dissertation or sport and exercise psychology project.

Entry Requirements for Sri Lankan Students

Grade Requirements:

  • You should have 120-128. UCAS tariff points from level 3 qualifications such as A-levels (BBB-ABB), BTECs (DDM) or the International Baccalaureate Diploma with points equal to the required UCAS points.

English Proficiency:

  • Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS score of at least 6.0. TOEFL or other equivalents are also accepted.

Cost of Study

The tuition fee (2025/2026 session) to study BSc Psychology with Sport and Exercise Psychology at Edge Hill University is £17,000 per year of study.

Scholarships

Edge Hill University offers international students many ways to fund their education. For example, undergraduate students may be eligible for a tuition fee reduction of up to £3,000 in their first year.
