MSc Financial Management

The MSc Financial Management at Cardiff Metropolitan University is available as a one-year full-time course or a two-year part-time course. It is suitable for students who want to gain advanced knowledge and skills in financial decision-making and business management. Students have the option to choose from various specialised pathways, such as Islamic Finance, Strategic Management, International Finance, and Project Management.

The course consists of 140 credits from taught modules spread over two semesters, followed by a 40-credit dissertation. Students will study modules such as Corporate Finance, Wealth Management, Management of Finance, and Capital Markets & Derivatives. They will also take part in case studies and have access to the Financial Times for financial research.

The course helps students build both analytical skills and strategic thinking. Graduates from this programme are well-equipped for jobs in financial management, corporate finance, investment banking, and consulting.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants need to have a bachelor's degree with a grade of at least 2:1, or a similar qualification, in a relevant area such as finance or accounting.

English Proficiency:

• For international students who are non-native English speakers, a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 is required, with at least 5.5 in each section.

In the academic year 2025/26, international students enrolling in the Cardiff Metropolitan University MSc Financial Management programme will have a tuition fee of £17,600 per year. Be aware that this fee may change annually.

At Cardiff Metropolitan University, international students can access several scholarships, including the Vice Chancellor Scholarship, which gives up to £3,500 for select MA and MSc programmes. They can also apply for the MBA Scholarship, which offers awards up to £4,000 based on academic qualifications or work experience. 

Other scholarship options that are available to them include the Undergraduate Scholarship, which provides around £2,500 and the Alumni Scholarship, which comes with a 20% discount on course fees for former undergraduates. If students pay their fees fully by the deposit deadline, they could get a discount of up to £1,000.
