The BSc (Hons) Nursing (Mental Health) is a full‑time, three‑year undergraduate degree programme that is held at both Canterbury and Medway campuses. The programme blends theory and practice. Each student completes 2,300 hours of practice overall. You’ll cover areas such as assessment, care planning, interventions for mental health conditions, and professional issues.
Assessment is done through written work, practical exams, reflective journals and workplace evaluations. Training takes place in specialist simulation suites, hospitals, community settings and care homes, and when students graduate, they qualify to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
Canterbury Christ Church University has two main campuses, historic Canterbury and Medway, with modern facilities, libraries, sports centres and coffee venues with over 200 undergraduate and postgraduate courses across Medicine, Law, Engineering, Business, the Arts and nursing programmes.
Candidates are required to submit a personal statement detailing their reasons for applying to the course, along with any relevant academic or work experience. A reference from an academic or employer is also necessary. Applicants have the option to include a CV to showcase their experience and skills.
