BSc Nursing Child

Course Overview

The BSc Nursing (Child) at Leeds Trinity University is designed to prepare students to become graduate nurses who can work flexibly across a range of settings and meet the health needs of children and young people throughout their lifespan. The programme enables students to develop skills required to become knowledgeable, emotionally intelligent nurses, capable of leading and managing evidence-based, person- and family-centred care while working as an important member of the healthcare sector.

Students will learn how to perform a range of nursing skills with proficiency, grounded in knowledge and an understanding of best practice. They will learn to practice in a non-judgmental and anti-discriminatory way, prioritising the needs of children, young people and their families, respecting their choices and individual wishes and promoting health.

In addition, they will be taught how to assess and review mental, physical, behavioural, spiritual and social needs to identify the priorities and requirements. They will also learn how to work within a team as resilient practitioners, with an ability to learn from experience and solve problems.
