MSc Nursing Studies Adult Pre-registration

The Glasgow Caledonian University MSc Nursing Studies Adult (Pre-registration) is an innovative programme designed for graduates from any academic background who wish to become nurses. This course focuses on equipping students with advanced critical thinking and practical skills to deliver compassionate, competent, person-centred, effective, safe, and high-quality healthcare. The programme balances theory and practice, with students undertaking eight placements in various community and acute settings within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde and NHS Golden Jubilee National Hospital. Students actively participate in learning, utilising a virtual learning environment and a state-of-the-art interprofessional simulation suite to develop skills. Assessment methods are varied and include care studies, essays, reflective portfolios, examinations, presentations, and dissertations, encouraging in-depth analysis and evaluation. The course runs for 28 months full-time, and successful completion leads to eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse – Adult Nursing (RN1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).

Grade Requirements: 

• Applicants need at least a 2:2 honours degree or equivalent in a subject other than adult nursing. 
• They also require English and Maths at Standard Grade, GCSE, National 5 or equivalent. 
• Evidence of digital literacy is also required.

English Proficiency: 

• Applicants from countries not on the NMC's list of accepted English-speaking countries must achieve an IELTS overall score of 7.0, with a minimum of 6.5 in writing and 7.0 in the other three components.
• The university accepts other test scores, such as PTE and TOEFL.

For international students, the tuition fee for the MSc Nursing Studies Adult (Pre-registration) at Glasgow Caledonian University is £19,300.
