University of Surrey

Course overview

This undergraduate programme includes a foundation year, and it runs for a period of four years. This is an entry point for students who do not meet the academic requirements of the main degree but still wish to study the BSc Nursing Studies (Registered Nurse Mental Health Nursing) programme.

After the foundation year, students will progress to the main degree, qualifying them for professional registration as a Mental Health Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) after graduation. The lecturers are healthcare professionals and active researchers from many disciplines. Students will be assessed using methods including written assignments, presentations, examinations, case studies, and simulation exams known as Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs).
