BSc Media and Communication

Course Overview

The BSc Media and Communication programme provides students with a deep understanding of how media and communication work in society, preparing them for careers that require expertise in different types of media, understanding audiences, social media, global trends, and public relations, by exploring how communication affects society, government, and business, and teaching critical analysis and research skills to apply to various media and users.

The programme's teaching is based on current research and covers topics such as media power, regulation, and digital platforms. Assessment is carried out through Blog portfolios, designing public relations campaigns, Remote/e-working team presentations.

Students develop valuable skills through innovative assessments, including creating blog portfolios and designing public relations campaigns. In later years, optional modules allow students to specialise in areas that interest them most within media and communication studies.

Entry Requirements for Nepalese Students

Applicants are required to submit a personal statement, academic or employer reference, and a detailed research proposal, with an optional CV, to show their suitability for the course.

Grade Requirements:

  • Applicants for the BSc Media and Communication need an A-level at BBB.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants need an IELTS Academic score of 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in writing and 5.5 in each other component.
  • Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic or TOEFL (iBT), is also accepted.

Cost of Study

For the 2025 entry, the tuition fees for the BSc Media and Communication programme is £22,900 per year for international students.
