Entry Requirements for Nepalese Students

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement where they can discuss their reasons for applying and any relevant experience. An academic or employer reference is also required. While not always mandatory, students have the option to upload a CV along with their application to demonstrate any relevant work experience.

Grade Requirements:

  • This course is for applicants who do not have an undergraduate degree in a discipline related to computing.
  • The university requires at least a 2:2 honours degree in any discipline and will also consider applicants with other backgrounds and experience.
  • Applicants are expected to have basic IT skills.

English Proficiency:

  • Applicants whose first language is not English require an IELTS overall score of 6.0, with at least 5.5 or higher in each component: reading, writing, listening, and speaking.
  • An alternative approved Secure English Language Test (SELT) will also be accepted if the applicant’s element scores are equivalent to those required for IELTS.

For International Students, the tuition fee for this course is £17,000.

Scholarships

The University of Sunderland provides several scholarships for postgraduate students, including international students. The Global Leaders Scholarship offers a £4,500 tuition fee reduction for international students in the 2025/26 academic year. Additionally, the university offers an Alumni Loyalty Scheme, which provides a 20% fee waiver for alumni who return to study a postgraduate degree.

There is also the North-East Postgraduate Discount, which gives a 20% fee reduction for eligible "home" students with a local connection who have experienced financial hardship. International students from Bulgaria may be eligible for the Tuk-Tam Scholarship, which can provide up to £9,000.
