BA Business and Management Stage 3

The BA Business and Management (Stage 3) programme at the University of Sunderland is a one-year top-up course for students with an HND or equivalent. It provides extensive business knowledge and prepares graduates for managerial responsibilities, with modules in marketing, HR, finance, and strategy. It permits students who hold an HND, foundation degree, or similar certificate to join in year 3 and finish a full honours degree in one year. The course gives a broad knowledge of business management, finance, operations, marketing, organisational behaviour, and strategy.

During this programme, students study modules in areas such as marketing strategy, human resource management, and management accounting. Teaching methods include lectures, seminars, group work, and independent study. In Stage 3, students are expected to take on responsibility for their learning compared to earlier levels. Students are taught through lectures, seminars, workshops, and self-study. Assessment is through essays, reports, case studies, projects, exams, and other assignments.

The University of Sunderland was established as Sunderland Technical College in 1901, became Sunderland Polytechnic in 1969, and gained university status in 1992. It has campuses in Sunderland and London, and also runs study centres elsewhere. Grade Requirements:

• To join Stage 3, applicants need a prior qualification like an HND, foundation degree, or equivalent in a business or related field.

English Proficiency:

• For international students, English language proficiency is required, with a minimum IELTS score of 6.0 overall and no component lower than 5.5.
• Other equivalent English qualifications may also be considered.

The annual tuition fee to study BA Business and Management (Stage 3) at the University of Sunderland is £16,500 for international students for full-time study. Students should also expect a tuition fee increase of a maximum of 10% each year.
