BSc Mental Health Nursing Practice

Course Overview

BSc Mental Health Nursing Practice at the University of Sunderland is a three-year full-time course. It is designed for applicants who want to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a mental health nurse. Students of this course will learn anatomy, physiology, psychology, pathophysiology, and neuroscience. They will also learn core mental health nursing skills.

Entry Requirements for Nepalese Students

To study this course, you will need to submit your academic transcripts or certificates. You will also submit a personal statement, health declaration or medical evidence, criminal record check or Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check, proof of identity or passport, and an application form or UCAS application.

Grade Requirements:

  • International applicants must have at least a grade C in Mathematics and English language in GCSE or an equivalent exam in their country.
  • If the GCSE (or its equivalent) has numerical grades, applicants should have at least a grade 4 in Maths and English.
  • For international students who studied under the American system, they will need a High School Diploma (with at least a 3.0 GPA) with a SAT I & SAT II (1100 score), ACT (26 or above), or Advanced Placement (AP) (3 or higher in at least 2 subjects).
  • Applicants can also use the UCAS points system. They will need between 96 and 112 UCAS points.

English Proficiency:

  • International students whose first language is not English are expected to have an overall score of 7 in IELTS (a minimum of 6.5 in each element).
  • The university also accepts other English proficiency tests, such as the Pearson Test of English Academic (minimum of 59 in each of the four areas of language learning) and Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English (CPE) (at least grade C).
  • The university also accepts a grade C in English O-level, GCSE, or its equivalent.

Cost of Study
