MSc Pharmaceutical Analysis
Course overview
The MSc Pharmaceutical Analysis at the University of Strathclyde is a master’s degree that provides knowledge about drug production, with emphasis on data acquisition, processing, and interpretation. This is an advanced programme, so students undertake research work to complete the degree.
In this programme, students learn the procedures of drug production and also work with statistics from past events to create models which align with the current drug-making practices. They also learn to represent acquired data with data analytics tools like Tableau Software and KNIME, which are higher-level compared to Excel.
Additionally, students gain skills used in the pharmaceutical industry for quality control, drug development, and research. The modules also cover instrumental analysis, such as spectroscopy and separation science. Learning in this course is through lectures, tutorials, online learning, and practical sessions. Students are also assessed through written and practical examinations and the submission of a thesis.
