Course Overview

The University of Strathclyde MSc Advanced Computer Science with Software Engineering programme helps graduates with a background in computer science or a similar discipline to improve their practical skills in software engineering. The course focuses on teaching techniques to build large-scale, reliable, and secure software systems. It aims to develop the skills needed to design and implement complex modern software, and it is available as a full-time, 12-month course with a start date in both September and January.

Students will spend time on lectures, lab practicals, tutorials, and self-study. Another important part of the course is a three-month research project, where students will work with an academic supervisor.
