BSc Microbiology Pharmacology

The University of Strathclyde BSc Hons Microbiology and Pharmacology will provide you with an understanding of the smallest living organisms, including viruses, bacteria, and fungi, along with the impact that drugs and other chemicals have on the body. The course will equip students with a career in the pharmaceutical and healthcare fields. It gives a good foundation in molecular and cellular areas of biology and pharmacology, and the opportunity to focus on neuropharmacology and industrial immunology.

The curriculum has practical laboratory sessions where students acquire skills in microbial culture, drug screening and pharmacological analysis. The first two years cover fundamental bioscience topics, allowing students to defer their final degree choice. Students in their third year will focus on their specialisation and will complete a research project.

• IELTS score of 6.0–6.5 overall, with no individual section below 5.5
• Equivalent qualifications such as TOEFL, Pearson PTE Academic, or LanguageCert Academic SELT are also accepted.

The international tuition fee for the BSc Hons Microbiology & Pharmacology at the University of Strathclyde is £27,800 per year.
