PhD Business, Management and Law

The University of Salford PhD Business, Management and Law programme aims to develop researchers, managers, and leaders who can bring about change in the modern global economy, especially in digital and complex settings.

Candidates are required to submit a personal statement, and a relevant academic and/or employer reference is also required. Applicants will also be interviewed. They also have the option to upload their CV along with their applications to demonstrate their work experience.

Grade Requirements:

• Applicants should hold a first degree, which can be from various disciplines, not just those related to the Humanities, but also Science and Engineering. 
• It is expected that applicants have a basic understanding of research methodology, whether qualitative or quantitative. 
• Evidence of the ability to study independently and critically evaluate academic work is essential, and candidates who already possess a Master's qualification are preferred.

English Proficiency:

• If English is not your first language, you need an IELTS score of 7.0 overall, with no individual score below 6.5. Other equivalent English language qualifications, such as TOEFL, are also accepted.

The tuition fee for international students taking the PhD Business, Management and Law at the University of Salford is £16,910 per year for the 2025 intake.

The University of Salford offers some scholarships for eligible international postgraduate research students, though these are highly competitive.
