MArch Master of Architecture

The University of Lincoln’s Master of Architecture is a programme that develops skilled individuals to address the challenges in the built environment. It is a two-year master’s programme that allows students to study in their areas of interest in architecture.

During this course, students will work on innovative architectural projects in collaboration with students from other disciplines. This allows multiple perspectives on the subject and the coproduction of knowledge.

Accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Commonwealth Association of Architects, among others, the Master of Architecture at the University of Lincoln teaches students through lectures, seminars, and studio-based formative feedback sessions. Also, students are expected to study independently.

Assessment occurs through studio discussion, draft written assignments, and reviews, while the final assessment is via a final presentation project together with written project documentation. To encourage and guide students, the university sends feedback on assessments within 15 working days.

Applicants should have one year's (post-degree) professional experience as part of their application.

Grade Requirements

• Applicants should have a minimum of an upper second-class honours degree (2:1) in Architecture (or an equivalent subject) from an RIBA/ARB-approved programme. Additionally, applicants should have RIBA Part 1 or have completed or have an architectural qualification.

English Proficienc

• Non-native English speakers may need to demonstrate proficiency in the language, typically through an IELTS score of at least 6.0. TOEFL or other equivalents are also allowed.

The tuition fee (2025/2026) to study the Master of Architecture at the University of Lincoln is £17,900.

The University of Lincoln provides qualified students with financial assistance through a number of scholarships and bursaries. The Blackburn Bursary is one example; it offers assistance to students under 25 who have been classified as care leavers.
