This MSc by Thesis is a one-year, full-time research qualification that focuses on advanced chemistry and original study. Students join research teams while working with supervisors who have strong connections to global companies, like AstraZeneca and Reckitt-Benckiser. This degree offers them the opportunity to make a key, original contribution to chemical knowledge.
The programme needs students to work on an independent research project supervised by an academic expert through the use of modern facilities. Students benefit from the PGR Development Programme to improve their academic and professional skills. The final award is offered after the submission and successful review of a comprehensive research thesis.
Entry requirements
Candidates are to submit a personal statement clearly noting their reasons for applying for the course, and submit other information regarding their studies. An academic reference is also required. Students have the choice of uploading their CVs along with their applications to display their work experience.
Grade Requirements:

Applicants must achieve an Upper Second Class Honours (2:1) undergraduate degree in chemistry or any related scientific discipline appropriate to their intended research. This requirement ensures they possess a firm foundation in key chemical principles before starting independent research.
English Language Requirements:

Applicants from non-English-speaking backgrounds must score 6.0 overall in IELTS (Academic), with no score below 5.5 in any section (reading, writing, speaking, or listening), or submit equivalent test scores
